Jona's third band was called Brett Marvin and the Thunderbolts whom Jona kept bumping into in blues and folk clubs where he performed as a solo artist on piano and vocals. Jona was pleased to accept their invitation to join the band as he thought they were a great blues band. He joined as a pianist although a year later he started singing with the band. Left to right, Peter Gibson (the head behind the bass drum and percussionist), Jona Lewie (keyboards), Jim Pitts (mandolin and banjo), Keef Trouble (zob stick), standing behind Jona is Graham Hine (9-string guitarist along the lines of Big Joe Williams whom Jona used to go and see perform as a kid at blues festivals in the early 60's), and John Randall, by far the tallest (on washboard).
There was no such person as Brett Marvin. The band became a key part of the university gig circuit. Jona was actually still John Lewis but the guys in this band also coincidentally called him Lewie as a nickname.
